8 Hours.
Qualification:
This comprehensive course provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the Maritime Operator Safety System (MOSS) and other relevant legislation pertaining to the operation of a commercial vessel in New Zealand waters.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to demonstrate knowledge of:
- Legal compliance on a vessel
- Maritime legislation, rules and regulations
- Duties of a Master
- Dangerous activity involving ships or maritime products
- MOSS and MTOP
- HSWA duties covered and not covered by MOSS
- Maritime protection rules
- Crewing and watchkeeping
This course does not guarantee employment.

- You are employed by a company in New
Zealand; and - Your work requires you to do the
course; and - The course is completed within 10 days.
